A Community Conversation about Mental Illness

Mental illness touches 1 in 5 Americans each year and in 50% of the cases is believed to start by age 14. Stigma has historically played a big role in Americans not getting help for their mental illness.

WHEN: May 2021 (Date TBD)  6:30 - 8:30 pm

WHERE: Enloe Conference Center, 1528 Esplanade Chico, CA

COST: Free

EVENT DETAILS:

The purpose of this panel style forum is to help eliminate the stigma of mental illness here in Butte County. In recognition of mental health awareness month, the community is invited to participate in open dialogues about mental health issues and support for people with them.
Topics such as Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), BiPolar, Schizo Affective, Anxiety and Depression will be discussed openly by panelists with lived experience in an effort to make others aware of mental illness and how to
stop stigmatizing the disease. Panelists will also share their tips for being present in the everyday life of work and family while coping with mental illness.

A wide variety of community organizations will also be present to provide mental health resource information.
